Laytime

The time allowed under the charterparty for loading and discharging cargo.

Laytime is the time allowed under the charterparty for the charterer to load and discharge cargo. Once laytime runs out, demurrage starts accruing.

Laytime clocks differ across SHINC (Sundays and holidays included), SHEX (excluded), WWD (weather working days), and whether NOR triggers laytime immediately or after a fixed hours-in-berth.
