MT760

SWIFT message type for issuing a guarantee or standby LC.

MT760 is the SWIFT message type used to issue a bank guarantee or Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC). Structurally similar to MT700 but used for guarantee undertakings rather than documentary credits.

"MT760 leasing" is a common scam vehicle — no legitimate bank leases its own credit. If someone offers to "lease" an MT760 to you, walk away.
