A major petroleum inspection and testing company; a 'Saybolt report' is common verification, and a common forgery.
Saybolt (part of Core Laboratories) is one of the major independent petroleum inspectors alongside SGS and Intertek. A Saybolt quantity/quality report on a cargo is genuine third-party verification, which is exactly why fake "Saybolt reports" circulate in the broker-scam circuit. A real report can be confirmed directly with Saybolt's local office; an unsigned PDF with no job reference cannot. Treat an inspection report as POP only after the inspector confirms it.
