Price reporting agency (PRA) — S&P Global Platts assesses physical oil prices globally.

Platts (S&P Global Platts) is the most widely used price reporting agency (PRA) in physical oil. Its daily assessments become the basis for most pricing formulas — "Platts Dated Brent average of the month of Bill of Lading +/- X".

Competitors include Argus Media and ICIS. Most LCs reference "Platts" explicitly.
